Week 3 of Lyla's recovery

This year has been a whirlwind so far. It's hard to believe that so much can happen in a short time. We're on an emotional tilt-a-whirl (roller coasters are too cliche) with Lyla's health stats. She's removed her n-d tube twice, we've had to cope with feelings of delaying her heart surgery, then become scared and excited at the same time the date came in. Then be concerned about the flu in our house right before surgery, then have a successful surgery, then deal with a slow recovery, which is currently at a 1/3 pace, and slowing.

Parker and Mabel have adapted well to frozen casarolle dinners and babysitters everyday, but by "adapting well" I mean only getting sent home from school once for Parker, and Mabel constantly talking about doing things with her mommy AND daddy at the same time.

I have to say boastfully that our family so so much fun to be a part of. Sheena finds ways everyday to have fun with all the kids so they remember that we love them, even when we're not around much. Yesterday way Fliptastic gymnastics day and sheena took the morning to take both kids to Mabel's parent participation class. Awesomely, they ditched the class and jumped over and over into the foam pit (normally we're a strict by the rules family). Also on Wednesday night the kids went crazy for turning all the lights out and dancing to kids bop Halloween, with night vision goggles and the constellation turtle while all sharing 1 bag & stick of lik-m-aide.
