Porky-Parky

Even with all the hoopla going on, we managed to move to our new house this month! Which, as a result, has left us without an internet connection for a few weeks, so forgive our slacking on our regular Sunday post. We have had plenty to do around our new place, including refinishing the floor, drywalling, texturing, painting, installing baseboards, changing electrical outlets and unpacking! Thank you to everyone who has helped us! We've been blessed with so much help, we can't keep up with all the thank you notes we'd like to write.

PARKER UPDATE: Parker's surgery is healing very nicely. The Dr.s are very happy with his function, and there don't seem to be too many side effects. There are still two concerns that we are worried about: 1) RSV (common cold). This can be fatal for premie & cardiac patient babies, so we're keeping Parker bundled up at home through most of the cold & flu season. If you're not sick and aren't around sick people, we'd love to have you over to meet the little guy, but be forewarned we'll still ask you to wash your hands before touching. 2) Weight gain. Since Parker has spend much of his time on earth intubated with a feeding tube down to his large intestines, it's been a little tough getting all the food he needs through his mouth. As a result, Sheena has been using the breast pump and fortifying the breastmilk with formula. He's gone from losing weight two weeks previous to gaining weight this last week, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for this week's weigh in, but he seems to now be eating a ton! (currently 9lbs 4oz)

Parker has been very good about his eat-wake-sleep schedule. Last night he slept the entire night for the first time, giving us some much needed rest. Could just be a fluke, but we'll keep our fingers crossed.
