Lately (posted February 25, 2011)

Can't believe we have gone through almost two months of 2011! I hope to be better at making blog posts this year as it is a great way to journal and record fun and important times in our lives.

Parker
Talking all the time and having conversations with us! Trevor and I just can't believe some of the things he says and are continually amazed with how smart and observant he is.
We have been going to music class for the last 5 months and having so much fun! Parker loves to sing and learn new songs and it has been a nice thing to do together.
He has also been going to Fliptastic gymnastics and that has been a really exciting activity for him as well. It has been fun to see him progress and become more comfortable playing with the "toys" and climbing in the "pit".
He still loves trains, but doesn't play with them as much. He's really getting into pretend play and enjoys doing puzzles, building with duplos, and playing with cars.
Parker has been a great big brother. At first, he wasn't too concerned about Mabel and would only acknowledge her if she made a sound or if we prompted him. But now if we are out somewhere and he doesn't see her he asks: "Where's Mabel?". It's SO sweet. And when we are playing together he makes sure she also has a car, or block, or whatever it is we are playing with. He likes to draw and is really careful and slow about his lines. He also is really good at tracing letters and can write a few on his own too!

Mabel
Is now 7 months old! (February 28) She is so close to sitting on her own and is babbling a ton. She often has an ear piercing screech that is out of excitement, but always takes you off guard. She enjoys bathtime, jumping in her jumper, chewing on everything , and watching Parker. We've started her on solids and at first she was doing really well, but now it seems that she doesn't want to eat as much. Mabel in such a sweet baby and sometimes gets shy around people she doesn't see a lot. She will look away and bury her head in her shoulder. There are lots of fun and cute things she does now too. She will scrunch up her nose and mouth and sniff. She also moves her body to music, shakes her head to be silly, and pulls her socks off her feet. We are so happy to have her and love her great personality.

There are more pictures in the photo album. I was trying to put more on this post but my network is slow right now and I just want to get this post up already!!
