The Daddy Store

I couldn't help but get excited for my date with Parker & Mabel to go to the Home Depot kids workshop. They were both so excited to put on their aprons and earn more pins for completing this month's project. Parker was proud to earn his fifth pin, and really did an awesome job hammering his own nails into the balsa wood NASCAR car by himself. Mabel was equally and excited, and really did an impressive job getting all the decals on the car in the correct spots. She can be both such a girl, and such a tom-boy. I love the picture of her tearing into her car kit with her baby laying on the bleachers in the background.

Date night extended into the evening when we added mommy to the party and went to DJ's deli for dinner and were surprised to be served by April Clark. The kids have a real salt addiction, and want to start tasting the salt shakers wherever we go. Afterwards we went to Scandia to go mini-golfing, and this kids were so excited. They always point out the towering Scandia Screamer while driving on the freeway, so it was fun to see it up close. At the end, mabel won a free soda for making a hole in one on the 18th hole (there couldn't have been a better prize in her eyes), and Parker won 13 tickets in two games and got a lollipop for himself, and one for Mabel. He had a traumatic experience while standing in line, a boy stole his tickets. Fortunately the boy's father was nearby - so he was forced to give them back, but this was a real eye opener for Parker.
