National Trails Day

Parker and I had a great time helping find some trails for this year's Girls Camp overnighter. I love exploring new trails and getting lost along the way, and Parker loves the freedom that comes with hiking by running way ahead on the trail. I am always seriously impressed by how far he can hike. I think he actually walked about 4 of the 6 total miles we hiked this morning, and was totally wiped out by the end of the day. It's been an eventful and tiring week, and it was great to get out of town and enjoy the fresh air and clear our heads of all the extra work at the office, and all the medical issues we're coping with.

Mommy & Mabel had a nice day too. When we returned, the girls were splashing & playing away on the swimming pool steps. Mabel got especially excited for Aunt Julaine's visit to our house. She was in town to visit "Great Great" in the hospital as we mourn her loss as a family. We will all really miss Great Grandma Ballard, and our lives have been forever impacted by her love. We love you Great-Great!
