Lake Tahoe

Neither Sheena nor I, having both grown up in Sacramento, had been big fans of Lake Tahoe, but as of late we've been heading up for long Summer weekends almost a couple times a year and really having a lot of fun. This weekend we stayed with the Riewold's near Nevada Beach at South Shore. The weather was beautiful, and it's always amazing how blue the lake is. It's becoming worth the 'car sickness' that always plagues Parker on the way up the hill.

It was a double win for Trevor because he got to take his bike and get in a ride on Saturday morning before everyone woke up and get in 40 miles of climbing.
It was a quick 2 day trip, but the highlight was definitely going to the be beach at Sand Harbor on our way home. The sand was great, and the kids couldn't have been more content just playing in the sand and filling up buckets with water. Mabel is now obsessed with burying her legs and wiggling her toes under the sand. Parker, like Trevor, hasn't quite caught on to the fact that beaches are windy and spent a lot of his time chasing the beach ball down the beach. Trevor didn't learned from our EZup incident at Mabel's birthday that it's hard to bring a canopy to the beach, instead we brought the sportsbrella and still had wind issues.

It was funny to see Parker bring  a big bucket of water from the shore and dump it into the sand like he was going to make a pond. The water just drained right through the sand and looked as if had never been there within a few seconds.

It's been great expecting a new baby into our family, because we've really made a great effort to spend more time together and it's been awesome for everyone.
