Halloween was so exciting this year. Parker and Mabel had been so excited all month long. One of their favorite things was the Spooky Buddies video that Grandpa Johnson and Grandma Kay sent, but we had previously seen the Space Buddies movie, so Mabel now calls the movie Spooky Space Buddies.
Parker dressed up as a glow-in-the-dark skeleton, Mabel as an owl, and Lyla as a mermaid in the costume Auntie Shauna made for her. Not surprisingly they dressed up all the time before the holiday and went nuts for all the candy. The costumes and candy fueled many spooky dance parties in the living room to the Pandora Kids Halloween station. Because of this, later on throughout the day Mabel would blurt out at random "we do the Monster Mash".
We also took Lyla on a trial outing to the Salmon Hatchery at Nimbus Lake. We weren't sure how to handle the feeding pump setup on the road, so we figured this would be as good a place as any to get her out and about (also because she's not ready for public people interaction, and we could keep her in her the stroller the whole time here). The kids loved watching the trout go crazy for the food, and of coarse they cried after dumping it all out, realizing it was all gone.
